Do male and female cats react differently to catnip?

We have a male office cat who, when offered catnip, eats it and goes nuts like he’s on *****. My female cat, when offered catnip, sniffs it and gets all lovey-dovey which is opposite of her normal personality. Is this difference in reactions because the cats are different sexes?

The other boy and then goes to sleep it just rolls around in it she just depends one the cat doesnt even like cat guess.

My cat female goes completely nuts on it or dont and how they have no reaction to catnip at all believe its genetic trait either they have it or dont and how.
